(Ahsaab) 33 : 50

Oh you Prophet! We have made lawful to you your wives to whom you have paid their dowers, and woman your right hand has possessed, whom Lord has subjected to you, and daughter of your paternal uncles and daughter of paternal aunts, daughter of maternal uncles and maternal aunts who have migrated with you, and any believing woman who offers her freely to Prophet and whom Prophet likes to marry, a privilege for you only and not for other believers; and We know what We have imposed in the case of their wives and right hand possessed woman for not to have any difficulty upon you, and Allah is the forgiving Merciful.

Muhammed is deputed as the last Messenger and Prophet to witness the way of life satisfied by the Lord to entire mankind in various aspects of life including in marriage life. Implementing the rules and regulations of the Lord is the only way to annihilate different evil customs and practices of the ignorant period. Remarkably, Messenger had not married any woman other than Khadeeja till she died when Messenger was 52 years old. Moreover, all wives except Ayisha who was the daughter of Aboobacker were widows, one of his wives Ummuhabeeba was the daughter of Abu Sufyan who led the Uhd war against Messenger, and one wife Mariyathul Khibthiya was a present from Egyptian Emperor. All these differ from Messenger’s marriage to others. See explanation 4: 3; 23: 5-6.
